Unforeseen Obstacles: The Impact of Overseas Stars Pulling Out on the Pakistan Super League

Pakistan Super League is all set to start on February 17; however, before the start of the tournament, several franchises of the PSL have been dealt huge blows.

Before the start of the tournament, several international cricket stars withdrew their names from the tournament, as their board denied granting them an NOC for their participation in the league.

In recent times, PSL franchise Multan Sultan has suffered a huge blow as they are going to miss the services of England pace bowler Reece Topley, who has pulled out his name due to injury as ECB has not given him a NOC to participate in the league.

Multan Sultan will also miss the services of Ihsanullah, who suffered an elbow injury in the previous edition of the PSL and has failed to recover from it.
Peshawar franchise will also not have South African pace bowler Lungi Ngidi, while Quetta Gladiators will miss the services of Wanindu Hasranga.

West Indies players like Shai Hope, Matthew Forde, and Akeal Hosein; South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamshi and Rassie van Der Dussen; England’s James Vince; and Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmed and Naveen ul Haq are other players that will also skip the whole tournament.

Meanwhile, a franchise owner has asked the cricket board to look for another window for conducting the tournament as it is difficult to get players with January and February already having a lot of international matches.
