“I was kicked out…”Ex Indian star makes a Shocking claim regarding the squad conundrum for world Cup

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan recalled that time when he was dropped from the team. Irfan Pathan, who has represented India in 29 test matches, 120 ODIs, and 24 T20s,. He was a regular member of India’s set-up; however, his career went through a lot of start-stop stages due to knee injuries.

After 2012, he was not able to represent India on the international stage, but he featured in the IPL until 2019.

Irfan Pathan was responding to a query on recency bias in which he criticized former opener and chairman of selectors Krishnamchari Srikanth for kicking him out of India’s squad.

In his interaction with Star Sports, Irfan Pathan said, “I was in the Indian team when Srikanth sir was the selector. I got injured and kicked out, and I never got another opportunity to play for the country. No, that’s the truth. And I have no complaints about it. I have huge respect for you. At that time, the mindset was different.”

Irfan further went on to explain that in earlier times, the selectors used to forget the match-winning performances given by the players just after one bad tour or injury.

However, the former all-rounder feels that the players should not be judged by one series.
