Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly feels that Delhi Capitals all-rounder Axar Patel will look to cement his place in the World Cup squad.
Axar can be used as a floater, depending on the match situation. Axar Patel also showed his caliber with the bat against the Gujarat Titans.
Speaking of Axar Patel, Sourav Ganguly said, “Axar Patel is a certainty. Both Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel are almost certain for me in the World Cup.” The way things are going, Rohit Sharma would definitely want someone to score that crucial run in lower order, and Axar is very capable of doing that.”
Ganguly went on to praise Axar and Jadeja and called them gifted cricketers.
Ganguly, who has helped Axar Patel develop his batting, feels that Axar has the ability to bat for India in tests as well as T20s.
Sourav Ganguly said, “When you look at Axar batting for India in test matches, he has the ability to score those difficult runs on turning wickets. He even has the ability to strike the ball, which is very much needed for T20 cricket. He is a complete package; he bats, bowls, and fields; overall, he is a gifted cricketer.”
