Unleashing the Fear Factor: Insights from KKR Coach on IPL 2024 Run-Fest

Knight Riders batting coach Ryan Tan Doeschate feels that “there’s an element of fear “among the bowlers seeing the way batters have been striking at will in the ongoing IPL season.
Punjab Kings have beaten KKR by a comprehensive margin of 8 wickets, making the record for the highest ever run chase in T20 history. They chased 262 in just 18.4 overs.

Speaking at his post-match presentation, Ryan feels that the bowlers need to be more courageous. Ryan feels that KKR would have taken 260 on any day as the score for the first inning.

In his post-match presentation, Ryan Tan Doeschate said, “I think the way batters have batted in this year’s IPL has installed an element of fear amongst the bowlers; they need to be brave enough in order to take the battle with the bat. But it’s all together a new thing: the way batters have been batting, bowlers have taken a step back. Like you said, Sunil Narine has been phenomenal with the ball, but the other players would have been disappointed like we are with our performance.”

The KKR coach also shared his views about the change in mindset of batters this season. Ryan feels that the presence of an impact player has made batters go hard from the first ball itself.

Ryan Tan Doeschate feels that bowlers need to find a way to stop the carnage that has been caused this season by the batters in the tournament.
