In the 28th match of IPL 2023, Delhi Capitals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets.

Batting first after losing the toss, Kolkata scored 127 runs in 20 overs.

Jason Roy scored 43 runs in 39 balls, and Andre Russell played an unbeaten inning of 38 runs in 31 balls.

Ishant Sharma, playing a match in IPL after 23 months, made a spectacular comeback. He took two wickets for 19 runs in four overs.

Anrich Nortje, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav also took two wickets each. Mukesh Kumar got a wicket.

Chasing the target of 128 runs, the Delhi team got off to a great start. Captain Warner batted fast and scored 34 runs in the first four overs.

Prithvi Shaw's poor form continued, and he was dismissed for 13 off 11 balls. After this, Mitchell Marsh could not do anything special and got out after scoring two runs.

David Warner was out after scoring 57 runs. However, wickets regularly fell after this, and Kolkata returned in the match.

In the end, Delhi needed seven runs in six balls. Axar Patel gave the victory. Axar played an unbeaten inning of 19 runs in 22 balls. There, Lalit Yadav remained unbeaten after scoring four runs.

This is Delhi's third consecutive win over Kolkata. Earlier in 2022, the team defeated Kolkata in two consecutive matches.

Ishant Sharma, playing an IPL match after 23 months, was adjudged player of the match for his superb bowling.
