The breakthrough season in the Indian Premier League, where every day new records are being made and broken, sets up another record. This time it’s the Kings from Punjab, who, against all odds, chased the highest ever total in the history of Twenty20 cricket.
With a huge total of 262 to chase, it was a herculean task ahead of the Punjab kings, but the kings from Punjab chased the total in their own style, making a mockery of the run chase. They chased this total in just 18.2 overs, with Prabhsimran (54), Johnny Bairstow (108) and Shashank Singh (68) becoming the heroes for the Punjab kings.

This successful run chase has also raised the eyebrows of the experts, who have already termed T20 cricket a batters game.
Team India’s spin master Ravi Ashwin took X to file a mercy petition from the bowlers side.
Ashiwn took his X account and wrote, “Someone, please save the bowlers.”
Ashwin made another post on X in which he wrote, “It’s a run a ball in the last two overs in a chase of 260+; let that sink in.”
