Suryakumar Yadav To Miss First 2 Games For Mumbai Indians? BCCI Official Gives An Update

After the ankle surgery, star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav is undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. However, there remains uncertainty regarding his availability for the first two matches of his IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians, in the upcoming 2024 season.

Mumbai Indians are scheduled to play their first game on Sunday, March 24, against the Gujarat Titans, adding an element of urgency for one of the most dynamic batters, Suryakumar Yadav, as he races against time to regain full fitness.

While having a conversation with PTI, a BCCI source said, “Surya is on track to play in the Indian Premier League 2024 but it is not clear whether he will be given a clearance by the NCA for the two matches against Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad (March 27).”

“There is still time before MI’s opening game but nothing can be confirmed about him at the moment,” the source said.

Suryakumar Yadav boasts an impressive record of 2141 runs at a strike rate exceeding 171 in 60 games. With four T20I hundreds to his name, he currently holds the top spot in the ICC T20I Rankings as a batter. Mumbai Indians are eager to have him back.
