VIDEO: Yashasvi Jaiswal Receives The ICC Player Of The Month Award, How Many Runs He Scored During IND vs ENG Test Series

The ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February 2024 has been bestowed upon Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, as announced by the cricket governing body on Tuesday, March 12. The emerging opening batsman secured the honor in his debut series, surpassing his contenders Kane Williamson and Pathum Nissanka.

Yashasvi Jaiswal clinched the award after his exceptional performance in the recently concluded five-match Test series against England. The left-handed batsman played a pivotal role with the bat as India staged a comeback to defeat England. After losing the first game, the hosts emerged victorious in the subsequent four Tests and secured the series with a margin of 4-1.

Yashasvi Jaiswal concluded the series as the top run-scorer. In a series where no other batsman managed to breach the 500-run mark, the Mumbai-based star set a record by accumulating an impressive 712 runs. His outstanding performance included two double-centuries and three half-centuries.

After being honored with the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award, Yashasvi Jaiswal expressed his joy and expressed hope for continued success, aiming to secure the award in the future as well.

While speaking in a video shared by the BCCI, Jaiswal said, “I’m really happy to have achieved the ICC award and I hope I will be getting more in the future. “It’s one of the best and this is my first five-match series.

“I really enjoyed it, the way I have played and the way it’s been and we won the series by 4-1. It’s been an incredible experience with all my mates And I really enjoyed it,” he added.

“I think when I celebrated my double century in Rajkot, I think that was something which I really enjoyed and felt it” he concluded.
