Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed his disappointment in Haris Rauf for his inconsistent bowling in the ongoing World Cup. He has been very costly during Pakistan’s match against Australia.
In that particular match, Haris Rauf managed to take three wickets, but he also gave away a substantial 83 runs in his eight overs. As a result, the Australians set Pakistan a challenging target of 368 runs in the match on Friday, October 20. However, Babar Azam and his team were unable to meet the target and were eventually dismissed for 305 runs, leading to a 62-run defeat.
While talking to his official YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra analyzed the performance of Haris Rauf and said, “Pakistan made a comeback in the end because of Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf also picked up wickets in the end, although Haris Rauf was leaking runs. It seemed like the tap had broken.”
The former Indian opener also said that everyone believed that Rauf would do some miracles in the tournament but he is not performing according to the expectation.

He said, “The runs were flowing like water. Haris Rauf got hit a lot. He has already been hit a lot in this tournament. He came into this tournament with a lot of khauf (terror) but now Rauf is there but khauf (terror) isn’t. The batters are running after him even though I rate him very highly.”
Rauf was smashed for eight fours and five sixes in his eight overs. He conceded 59 runs in his initial four overs.
