Mumbai Indians ‘Indian’ Player To Leave For T20 World Cup On This Date

After Lucknow Super Giants was thrashed by Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, the Mumbai Indians team has been officially knocked out of the tournament. MI managed only 4 wins out of 12 matches, making them the first team to exit the competition.

After the elimination from the Indian Premier League 2024, players such as Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and others will travel to the USA on May 21st.

Mumbai Indians have two remaining group stage matches in IPL 2024, against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 11th and Lucknow Super Giants on May 17th. However, the attention of Mumbai Indians players has now shifted to the ICC T20 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav are set to leave for the USA on May 21st, which happens to be the day of Qualifier 1. Following the conclusion of the group stages on May 19th, there will be a two-day break before the first batch of players departs for the United States.

In the context of the IPL 2024 Playoffs race, MI has already been eliminated. If GT loses their upcoming match against CSK, they will face a similar fate. Interestingly, the loser of the PBKS vs RCB match will also be eliminated. As a result, besides Rohit Sharma, other top Indian stars will also be among the first group of players departing for the USA.

Mumbai Indians had a horrible season this year under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. He was transferred to Mumbai from Gujarat before the start of the season after which he faced a tough time during the tournament.
