2023 ODI World Cup: ‘Learned A Lot From IPL And Sunrisers’, David Warner Stunning Statement After The Century Against Pakistan

Australian opener David Warner smashed a solid hundred against Pakistan and helped Australia to win their second game in this ODI World Cup 2023. While batting first, Australia set a target of 368 runs where both the openers Warner and Marsh got a century.

After the 62-run win against Pakistan, David Warner thanked IPL and said that the platform gave him the art of pacing the innings in this 50-over format.

Warner’s remarkable innings of 163 runs from 124 balls, along with his partnership of 259 runs with fellow centurion Mitchell Marsh, propelled Australia to a 62-run victory over Pakistan. This victory has elevated Australia to the fourth position on the tournament table.

“I’ve established early on in my career that 50 overs is a long time. I look to try and get to 35 overs and then from there, try and put my foot down if I’m still in.

While talking during the fourth match presentation, David Warner said, “I think that’s where in T20 cricket, I’ve learned a little bit as well to change my gears, especially in IPL. I learned a lot when I was playing for Sunrisers that you’re able to have a lot more time than you think,” Warner said during the post-match media conference on Friday.”

“I think sometimes you just match up well against certain teams. Sometimes you’re going to put away the good balls. But I think you just keep backing yourself. I don’t really look at any stats.

“It just so happens to be that I’ve scored…four consecutive hundreds, which I didn’t know about until they came up. But for me, it’s about doing my best every time I go out there,” said Warner.

Australia will now play their next match against the Netherlands on October 25 in Delhi.
