SA vs IND: ‘He Will Be A Big Miss’, Rohit Sharma On The Highest Wicket-Taker For India In South Africa

ndian captain Rohit Sharma addressed the media before the start of the first test match and said that the Indian team will be without the services of premier fast bowler Mohammed Shami in the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa, which will be a big miss for the men in blue.

Rohit Sharma had a press conference ahead of the Boxing Day Test match against South Africa, scheduled to take place at SuperSport Park in Centurion. This marked the first occasion where the Indian captain addressed the media after India’s heartbreaking defeat to Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.

India will commence the final segment of their South Africa tour after playing the T20I and ODI series. Star players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah will return to action after the ODI World Cup final. However, Mohammed Shami will not be part of the Test series.

Rohit Sharma expressed that the absence of Mohammed Shami would be a major loss in the series. He acknowledged that India has not yet won a Test series in South Africa and emphasized that the team will strive to change that record by giving their best in the upcoming series.

“Very important Test series. We have never won a series here. It’s a big opportunity for us. We came close the last two times. That gives us a lot of excitement and encouragement to do our best. Our seamers have done well in Australia, England, and South Africa. The seamers have actually pulled their weight in. Shami will be a big miss,” Rohit said.
