Sunil Gavaskar Weighs In: T Natarajan’s Presence in India’s T20 World Cup Squad

Former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar feels that T. Natarajan should have been included in India’s squad for the upcoming T-20 World Cup. Natarajan, who is known for his yorkers, has been in fine form with the ball for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Natarajan has picked up 13 wickets in 7 matches so far for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In his interaction with India today, Sunil Gavaskar said, “I was looking at T Natarajan, the left arm pacer, who has bowled brilliantly, so I thought that he should have gotten a place in the team, but that’s ok because the seam bowlers that have been picked in the squad, everyone has experience. So I have no problem with this exclusion.”

India will head into the World Cup with just three pace bowlers and four spinners. Gavaskar feels that Hardik Pandya will bowl consistently in the World Cup and can play as Team India’s fourth-semester bowler.

Gavaskar also feels that the change of attitude in this Indian side could also help them lift the trophy this season, as they have missed out on two previous occasions.
