IND vs PAK, 2023 ODI World Cup: Pakistan’s Fans Did Not Get Visa To Attend The High-voltage Clash At Narendra Modi Stadium

The excitement and anticipation for Saturday’s India versus Pakistan match at the historical Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad have reached an unprecedented level. From experts to fans, they are all set for a high voltage match between Rohit Sharma and Team and Babar Azam’s company.

Those fortunate fans who managed to grab tickets for this high-intensity match are being celebrated as the luckiest individuals in the cricket community. The tension is evident as supporters from both cricket-crazy nations are actively using social media to rally behind their respective teams in the lead-up to the match.

The Pakistan players might find it challenging to spot fans in green jerseys, as visas for Pakistani fans have not been granted for this event. However, a few Pakistani journalists did successfully make the journey to India after receiving a Visa at the last minute.

A huge gathering of Indian fans is anticipated to pack the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday. Pakistan captain Babar Azam said that his team has experience playing in front of packed stadiums but expressed a sentiment that it would have been more enjoyable if some of their own fans had been allowed to attend this mega clash.

According to a quote by The Telegraph, Babar Azam said,“This doesn’t mean much pressure because we have played in front of a large crowd several times before… in front of big crowds at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and all the big stadiums… Yes, I think Ahmedabad will only be blue. So if Pakistani fans were allowed, it would have been good for us.”

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was asked the same question whether he is feeling pressure in playing in front of more than 1 lakh fans in Ahmedabad, the skipper said that this is not a disadvantage but a good thing.

“I don’t think there is any disadvantage. You feel nice about playing in front of your home crowd. They get behind you no matter what the situation of the game is,” the 36-year-old said.

Rohit Sharma further added,“My overall experience playing, not just in India, even outside India, we get massive support. So, I have so far never experienced where the crowd has gone against us or anything like that. So, I look at this as a good advantage, big advantage. We know that eventually it boils down to playing good cricket. A lot of the guys in the team love a big crowd, the cheer, the noise in the ground. So yeah, the boys really enjoy it.”
