Why Harsha Bhogle Seeks a Public Apology To Punjab Kings Fiery Batter Shashank Singh?

The IPL 2024 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings was tough for the bowlers. Surprisingly, Punjab Kings chased down a record 262 runs in 19.4 overs at Eden Gardens. Kolkata Knight Riders had set a huge total of 261/7. However, Jonny Bairstow’s 108 runs, along with Shashank Singh’s 68 and Prabhsimran Singh 54, led Punjab Kings to a remarkable 8-wicket win.

During the game, the renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle apologized to Shashank Singh for mistakenly calling him Ashutosh Sharma. Singh showed his hard-hitting skills by scoring 68 runs from only 28 balls, including 8 sixes and 2 fours with an impressive strike rate of 242.85.

While speaking on Cricbuzz, Harsha Bhogle said, “I want to apologize to Shashamk Singh for calling him Ashutosh, as we are so used to watching these two. They have been magnificent for the team. I said Ashutosh Sharma and then realized it was Shashank Singh.”

The ace commentator also compared this game to a movie and said, “I went to see a cricket match but didn’t find one. It was a movie in front of our eyes. This was once-in-a-lifetime stuff. Shashank and Bairstow added 82 runs, of which 68 were amassed by the Indian batter. That shows his range of shots.”

Even after the loss, KKR is still in second place on the points table. They’ve won five matches and lost three. Punjab, on the other hand, has six points from nine games and is currently in ninth place.
