IPL 2024: Punjab Kings All-rounder Departs From India After The Historic Win Over Kolkata Knight Riders

Punjab Kings registered a historic win against Kolkata Knight Riders in the match played on April 26 at Eden Gardens. While chasing the target of 262 runs, Punjab got this target in 18.4 overs. Meanwhile, after the match Punjab Kings’ all-rounder Sikandar Raza has left India.

Raza departed from the franchise to join Zimbabwe for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. Despite being a star all-rounder, Raza only played in two games during IPL 2024 where he scored 43 runs. PBKS have played in nine matches up to now and managed to get only three wins.

Raza is highly esteemed as one of the premier T20 cricketers worldwide, faced difficulty in consistently making it into the playing XI due to team dynamics and the limitation of playing only four overseas players.

On social media, he wrote, “Thank you India, IPL, and Punjab Kings for having me. Loved every minute of it. Time for national duty now. Inshallah, we will meet again soon.”

Bangladesh is set to host Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series, commencing with the opening game on May 3. The series will conclude with the last match on May 12.

Sikandar will be back in action for Punjab’s match against Rajasthan Royals on May 15. After that, PBKS will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 19.
