Johnny Bairstow was all praise for Shashank Singh for playing an unbelievable knock under pressure. The Punjab Kings thumped KKR in their own backyard by eight wickets.
Shashank Singh has been in tremendous form this season. The star batter once again showed his class, scoring 68 out of just 28 deliveries. The star batter hit two fours and eight sixes, helping the Punjab Kings clinch the highest ever run chase in the history of T20 cricket.
Speaking about Shashank Singh in his post-match presentation, Johnny Bairstow said, “Shashank Singh has been doing it throughout the season; he’s a special player. Having someone like Shashank come in and do what he does is unbelievable. He is really nice and cool under pressure and hits cleanly.”.
After being asked to chase down such a mammoth target, the Punjab Kings got off to a flying start, with Prabhsimran Singh scoring 54 of just 20 world balls. Prabhsimran Singh was equally complimented by Johnny Bairstow, who brought up his first 100 of the season, scoring 108 of just 48 balls.
Talking about the start Johnny Bairstow said,” We got off to a brilliant start; they got off to a flier thanks to Sunil; it was clear that we needed to go bang bang in the powerplay.”
