Punjab Kings skipper Sam Curran was in awe of the hitting that has been shown by the batters in this IPL season. Sam Curran said, “Cricket has turned into baseball.”. Curran said this after a historical run chase against KKR. More than 500 (532) runs were scored with 42 times the ball flying in the stands.

Punjab Kings came into this match after losing the previous four encounters in which they played.
However, they created history by chasing 262, becoming the first team in the history of T20 cricket to chase such a mammoth total in just 18.2 overs.

Punjab Kings got off to a flying start, with Prabhsimran Singh scoring 54 of just 20 deliveries. He got support from Jonny Bairstow, who was out of form before this match.
However, Jonny Bairstow returned to form in grand style, scoring 108 out of just 48 deliveries. 
However, the major impetus in Punjab’s innings came when Sashank Singh, who played just 28 deliveries, went on to score 68 runs.

Speaking about the victory, Sam Curran said, “Very pleasing. Most importantly, cricket has turned into baseball, hasn’t it? We’re delighted with the two points. We had a tough few weeks as a team. Forget about the scores; we deserved this victory.”

Sam Curran was also all praise for Johnny Bairstow and Shashank Singh.
