The Indian team aims to uphold this record in the tournament. When questioned about this record, Pakistan captain Babar Azam remarked during a press conference that records are meant to be broken and expressed his eagerness to play the match in Ahmedabad.
During their last encounter against Sri Lanka, Pakistan achieved a remarkable feat by successfully chasing down a record World Cup total of 345 runs in Hyderabad. Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan assumed responsibility for the chase, steering Pakistan to victory despite a challenging situation where they were 37/2 in the 7th over.
