The captain of Chennai Super Kings Mahendra Singh Dhoni has shared a heartfelt message for the CSK batter Ambati Rayudu, the batter who announced his retirement from the IPL 2023 before the final game between CSK and Gujarat Titans.
Dhoni feels that Rayudu is a remarkable player for CSK and he shares many similarities with him and wished him all the good luck for the next chapter of his life. Dhoni highlighted his journey with India A and said that the batter has done something amazing in the final against GT that will always be memorable.
In the final game against Gujarat Titans, Ambati Rayudu played a crucial knock and scored 19 runs in just 8 balls when CSK needed it the most. This innings included two sixes and a four and it helped CSK to write history.
During the conversation about Rayudu, MS Dhoni humorously pointed out that if Rayudu is there in the team Chennai Super Kings would never win the fair play award because Rayudu tends to celebrate enthusiastically and early. On the other hand, Rayudu described Chennai’s performance in this season’s league as a fairytale and it ended like the most amazing dream.
In the post-match presentation, Dhoni said, “A special thing about Rayudu is, with him on the team I will never win the fair play award. He jumps in celebration or something like that pretty early. He always wants to contribute. We played India A together. We are a part of the team together. He is someone who plays the spin and pace well. I thought he will do something special tonight and didn’t he? He is also like me, who doesn’t use the phone a too lot. I hope he will enjoy the next phase of this life.”
