DC vs SRH: David Warner Revealed The Shocking Reason For The Defeat Against SRH

In the 40th match of IPL 2023, on Saturday, April 9, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 9 runs. Sunrisers captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bat first. Hyderabad scored 197 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Delhi Capitals team could only manage 188 runs for six wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, Delhi lost the wicket of captain David Warner in the very first over. A century partnership between Phil Salt and Mitchell Marsh followed this. After the dismissal of these two, Delhi lost momentum. David Warner also accepted this after the match.

Philip Salt and Mitchell Marsh played half-century in the match for Delhi. Marsh scored 63, and Salt scored 59. Both shared a 112-run partnership for the second wicket. In the last over, Akshar Patel scored an unbeaten 29 off 14 balls, but he could not win the team.

David Warner said after the match, “Mitchell Marsh bowled very well, we lost by nine runs. When you get a start like this, it is important to maintain the momentum, but we could not succeed. Got a good start, but we wanted to keep that momentum going, but it didn’t happen.”

On sending Akshar Patel at number seven, David Warner said, Akshar is in good rhythm; as the match progressed, we forgot him. We’ll try to send the letter up. We have lost wickets in the middle overs; one of us will have to try and hold on for a long time.”

Sunrisers won the match for their third win in the season. He has six points in eight matches and has moved from ninth to eighth position. On the other hand, this is Delhi Capitals’ sixth defeat in the season. He has only two points in eight matches and is in the bottom 10th position. Now the way for Delhi to reach the playoffs has become very difficult. He has to win his remaining six matches. Only then will his hopes remain alive.
