New Zealand To Tour India Without Williamson And Southee In 2023, Here Is The Detail

The New Zealand cricket team will be touring India next year for the limited-over series starting in January and for the same two kiwis giants have marked themselves unavailable for the series.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and current captain Tim Southee have decided not to be part of the tour to India due to the home series against the England Cricket team.

It is notable that New Zealand cricket is coming to India in 2023 for the three-match ODI and the same number of T20 series. The first ODI between New Zealand and India will be played on January 18 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad followed by the 2nd and third ODI on January 21 and January 24 respectively.

After this T20 series, India will take on Kiwis for the 1st T20I at JSCA International stadium complex. The match will be played on January 27.

Apart from Williamson and Southee the Kiwi head coach Gary Stead is also not coming to India. In his absence the former wicket keeper batter Luke Ronchi will take charge of the team against India as coach.

Selector Gavin Larsen confirmed this on Monday and said,”It’s a conveyor belt of cricket at international level,” Larsen told journalists.”

He further added,”We’ve got two very important test matches against England, so bringing Kane and Tim back and letting them recharge their batteries mentally and physically is really, really crucial.”
