Kolkata Knight Riders ended their five-match home schedule in the IPL by beating Delhi Capitals by seven wickets. On a slow wicket at Eden Gardens, KKR restricted the Delhi Capitals to just 153. KKR’s chase was led by Phil Salt, who once again played an unbelievable knock of 68 out of just 33 deliveries, helping his side win by 7 wickets.
Phil Salt was signed as a replacement by KKR for Jason Roy and has made full use of the opportunity since then. The star batter has scored 344 runs so far in nine matches. In his 68 runs, Knock Slat broke the Elite record of Sourav Ganguly as he became the batter with the most runs in Eden Gardens.
Salt has leapfrogged Sourav Ganguly and Andre Russell, respectively, as he overtook Ganguly, who scored 331 runs in the 2010 season, while Andre scored 311 runs in the 2019 season of the IPL.
