WI vs IND, T20: BCCI Announces Replacement For KL Rahul, This Super Striker Batsman Will Take Place

Sanju Samson has been added to the squad in the upcoming 5-match T20I series against West Indies. He has been added in place of KL Rahul who was reported to be COVID positive at the NCA camp and has been advised to rest.
Sanju Samson had an okayish ODI series with the bat against West Indies with only one 50+ score in the three innings.

Rahul, on the other hand, was chosen for the T20I team despite the fact that his availability depended on his level of fitness. The right-handed hitter has been sidelined since the IPL ended.

After the IPL, he traveled to Germany for groin surgery. He returned to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru following a successful surgery. He recovered in time for the series, but Covid-19 kept him from going to the Caribbean. He received a Covid-19 positive test earlier this month. Rahul did serve his time in isolation, but the BCCI’s medical experts recommended that he take another week off to unwind and heal.

Samson would be hoping for the opportunity to play and take advantage of it. The fact that the selectors did not choose to include him on the T20I team is proof that he is no longer considered for the next T20 World Cup.

Samson still has a chance to make things right if he seizes his most recent chance, though. After getting a brilliant fifty during the most recent ODI series against the West Indies, he will be eager to participate in the T20Is.
India will play its first match of the series on 29th July, Friday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad.

India’s updated T20 Squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav*, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.
