Former Director of Cricket of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mike Hesson, is hopeful of Rajat Patidar getting another opportunity to represent India in international cricket. Mike Hesson feels that Rajat Patidar is too good and has all the ability to shine on an international level. Mike Hesson praised Patidar after he played a sublime knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring 50 of just 19 deliveries.
In his innings of 50 runs, Rajat Patidar showed his dominance against the spinners and hammered them for five sixes. Rajat Patidar played this inning when the other batters, including Virat Kohli, were struggling to get going on the pitch.
Rajat Patidar added 65 runs along with Virat Kohli. He did the bulk of the scoring as he was struggling with the timing, scoring 19 of the 25 deliveries he faced.
Speaking about Rajat Patidar, Mike Hesson said, “He has been a standout performer for both teams. Scoring a 19-ball fifty on a wicket where the batters from both teams struggled shows his class. Although he has not been able to replicate his performance on an international level, I hope that he gets another chance to play for Team India.”.
Apart from Mike Hesson, former World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan also praised Rajat Patidar for the kind of knock that he has played.
Eoin Morgan said, “Absolute Carnage! Such a powerful swing of the bat! Such a phenomenal attitude! He was totally dominant in his innings, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in their own style of playing in the IPL this season. I thought that his innings were the major difference between the two teams.”
Rajat Patidar so far has been good for royal challengers Bangaluru.
The star batter has scored three-and-a-half centuries at an impressive strike rate of 175.
