Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar has picked his Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in the USA and West Indies. Surprisingly, Manjrekar excluded Virat Kohli from his Indian squad and opted for Sanju Samson instead. In his 15-player squad, he chose Samson over Kohli for the No. 3 position in the batting lineup.
The Indian selection group will soon pick players for the big tournament ahead. IPL 2024 is seen as a chance for players to prove themselves for the T20 World Cup squad. Even though Kohli is performing well, it seems he might not be selected for Manjrekar’s squad.
While having a conversation with Star Sports, Manjrekar revealed his choices for the T20 World Cup squad. He also said that it is very difficult to select players from a large pool of talented players.
Manjrekar said, “It’s extremely difficult because there are many quality players. Especially after the IPL, there are too many options, but let me make an effort.”
