Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori feels that Sunrisers Hyderabad have been very good in this year’s IPL in setting up the total, but now they also have to figure out how to chase the total set by other teams.
In his post-match conference, Daniel Vettori said, “We have been quite phenomenal in setting up the target; now it’s time for us to brush our skills to chase the target set by the opposition.”
Royal Challengers Bangaluru, after electing to bat, first set up a cumulative total of 206 and restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to 171, helping their side to win the second game of the season.
For a team that has been scoring 250 runs on three occasions this season, it would have been easy for them to chase the target.
Speaking about the same, Daniel Vettori said, “The team has played excellent cricket in the last four matches. Although the result was not in our favor, you could see if the wickets had been left in the end, we would have chased this down quite easily.”.
The head coach also said that there are no easy matches in a tournament like the IPL.
Vitori also shared his opinion about Anchor’s role in a run chase in T20 cricket.
Daniel Vettori said, “I think the wicket was still very good. When a team is chasing a target of 207, it’s hard for an individual to play the anchor role; you need to go from the first ball itself. In a run chase like this, the anchor role can sometimes be a bit tricky.”.
