Today on Super Saturday, the first match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, the 58th match of IPL 2023 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs. Lucknow Super Giants had to face defeat against Gujarat Titans by 56 runs in the previous match.
No one thought that Sunrisers Hyderabad would keep their playoff hopes alive by winning the last match, but now the team’s batters will face the spinners of Lucknow Supergiants at their home ground. In IPL 2023, Lucknow lost two of the last three matches, but if they beat the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers team, they will reach the top-4 four.
As far as the Sunrisers are concerned, they are at the ninth position in the points table of 10 teams with eight points. The Lucknow team, led by Krunal Pandya, is in fifth place with 11 points in 11 matches.
The match will be played during the day, so the wicket could be dry starting at 3.30 pm IST. However, the pitch of Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium helps the slow bowlers.
The role of spinners will be important. Lucknow has a useful spin trio in the form of Ravi Bishnoi, experienced Amit Mishra and captain Krunal, in front of whom the Sunrisers batters may have to struggle. Sunrisers’ spin department has weakened due to Washington Sundar’s injury. Mayank Markande, the only spinner from his side, has performed well.
