The second T20 International match between Pakistan and Afghanistan was played in Sharjah. Pakistan decided to bat first after winning the toss. However, Pakistan’s start was not good, and the team lost four big wickets inside ten overs. Batsman Abdullah Shafique failed miserably with the bat again and got out on the first ball.
Shafique was dismissed for a golden duck in the fourth consecutive match. He also returned to the pavilion earlier without opening an account in the first T20 match. Abdullah Shafique has become the first batsman in the world to get out for a golden duck in four consecutive T20 Internationals and has achieved this shameful record unwillingly.
In 2020, Abdullah Shafique was first dismissed on a golden duck in two consecutive T20 Internationals, after which he was shown the way out of the team. Abdullah Shafique once again returned to the Pakistan team for the T20I series against Afghanistan, but his performance did not improve. He returned to the pavilion on the first ball of his innings in the first match of the series and could not rectify his mistake in the second match.
Indian team batsman Suryakumar Yadav has also returned to the pavilion on a golden duck thrice in three consecutive matches in ODI cricket. Surya could not open his account in all three matches of the ODI series played against Australia. It took only three balls for the Kangaroo bowlers to send Suryakumar to the pavilion in the entire series.
