‘Kohli, Suryakumar, And Hardik Pandya Are Decent Fielders; India Is Missing ‘Gun Fielders’ Like These 3 Stars’

In recent months, Team India has been struggling not only with the death bowling but also due to their sloppy fielding. With players like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav, India only have decent fielding but is not as outstanding as it used to be earlier.

A few years back, India had a solid pool of fielders where players like Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, and Ravindra used to dominate the batting team, in and out of the 30-yard circle. However, Jadeja is still on the team but not getting support from his companions.

Recently, former Indian cricketer and now the most entertaining commentator Aakash Chopra has shared his thoughts on the continuous fielding degradation of team India. While talking on his youtube Channel, Aakash Chopra said, “We no longer have real “gun” fielders in our team. Players like Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, and even Ravindra Jadeja aren’t a part of this team. We no longer use the phrase “Wow! What a fielder” watching someone from our team field.”

Talking further, Aakash Chopra said that India lacks ‘Gun Fielders’ and including three wicketkeepers – KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, And Dinesh Karthik in the same playing XI is increasing problems for Team India.

He stated, “Often Team India picks three wicketkeepers in their playing XI, out of which only one gets the gloves. The other two are in the outfield and generally can’t be counted as gun fielders.”
