Indian star batter Shubhman Gill performed very well in England’s county tournament. His dominance in domestic cricket is well known. He is currently a Glamorgan County Cricket Club member and recently scored his maiden century in the championship division trophy. On Tuesday, playing against Sussex, he slammed his first ever ton in the domestic championship of England.
He earned plaudits from all over the world cricket community. Cricket fraternity is praising him for his exceptional performance in England’s domestic circuit. Former Indian all-rounder Rohan Gavaskar revealed an interesting story of about Shubhaman Gill and the way he got to know about him.
“It was Amol Mazumdar who first mentioned Shubman Gill to me before he had even broken through because Amol had seen him at the NCA, he was going and coaching at the NCA, and he came to me and said, ‘Rohan, I’ve seen an absolute superstar! He’s someone who is going to play for India. I do not doubt it.’ He’s one of those who will be an all-format player,” Gavaskar said.
In the previous edition of IPL, he played some outstanding knocks and helped Gujarat Titans in winning the maiden IPL trophy. In previous edition of IPL, he had made 483 runs and helped made a significant contribution for his team. Till now, he has represented Indian team in 11 Tests and 9 One Day International (ODIs).

“He is more than capable of holding his own in white ball cricket. In red-ball cricket, his numbers are just astounding. Again, he is someone, when I say nurtured, I mean he needs to be given the right opportunities because he has shown that he has the ability, and there is no doubt about that,” Gavaskar added.
