Breaking News: ICC Confirmed The Host Of T20 World Cup 2024

According to the statements made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), there are no plans to relocate the 2024 Twenty20 World Cup from the Caribbean islands and the United States to the United Kingdom. Both organizations have denied the suggestions that the tournament would be allocated to England, Ireland, and Scotland due to administrative uncertainty in the USA Cricket (USAC).

The ECB spokesperson emphasized that the event is organized by the ICC, and their statement should be considered binding and conclusive. The ICC has confirmed that preparations for the 2024 Twenty20 World Cup are already underway, including venue inspections in the host territories.

An ICC member dismissed the suggestions of relocating the event as creative speculation. They pointed out that the event is scheduled for June 2024, and besides the West Indies and the USA, the only other possible location would be England. However, it is clear that England cannot host the event in 2024, as confirmed by the member. The member also suggested that a glance at the England venue fixtures for the next year would confirm this.

Reports have mentioned a potential trade-off between the hosts of the 2024 and 2030 championships. It has been suggested that England, Ireland, and Scotland could host the event in 2024, while the West Indies and the USA would host it seven years later, allowing the USAC to address its administrative issues. The specific venues being considered for hosting matches in the US include Florida, Dallas, and another yet to be determined location. ICC insiders have mentioned that innovative solutions are being planned to address the venue requirements for staging the championship in the US, with minimal administrative involvement for USAC.
