During the India-Australia ODI series it was reported that a stalker from Andhra Pradesh contacted Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj to recover from his financial losses due to betting. However, Siraj reported this incident to the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

To catch the person who contacted Mohammed Siraj for betting, BCCI and the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) collaborated with the cyber police. The individual had reached out to Siraj via WhatsApp and requested his help in making money through betting.

A source related to BCCI’s ACU team said,”He sent messages on WhatsApp to Siraj informing him about the losses he incurred on betting and wanted his help. He requested the pacer to help him out. Siraj informed us about the approach.”

According to the report, the person who was arrested in Andhra Pradesh is not part of any gang or criminal network.

“The accused is not associated with any gang nor does he have past record of betting. He lost a lot of money while betting on matches and was hoping Siraj would help him to get out of the situation
