Mumbai Indians had a disappointing season in the IPL 2024 where the team managed to get four wins and they are now at the bottom of the points table in this edition. Mumbai Indians (MI) head coach Mark Boucher reflected on the challenges the team faced over the last two months, sharing his thoughts candidly.
As MI’s disappointing season in the IPL 2024 came to an end, Boucher was questioned about the future of former captain Rohit Sharma with the team. He said that Rohit Sharma is capable enough to decide his destiny.
In the last match of the season for MI, opener Rohit Sharma showcased the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket, facing a decline in form despite a strong start earlier in the season.
While talking in a press conference, Boucher said, “For me, he is a master of his destiny. It’s a big auction next season who knows what’s going to happen?”
Boucher reflected on Rohit Sharma’s performance, noting that it could be divided into two phases. Initially, Rohit showed strong batting form and impressed during practice sessions. Boucher expressed confidence in Rohit’s future performances, indicating that he was progressing well and poised to deliver exceptional displays in upcoming matches.
“I discussed with Rohit Sharma last night. We reviewed the season this year. After that, I asked him what’s next? and Rohit said ‘the World Cup'”, he added
