The former England batter Gary Ballance who is now playing for Zimbabwe has achieved an impressive milestone against the West Indies in the first test match being played at Bulawayo.
Gary became the second batter in cricket history to mark international centuries for two countries. Before Gary Ballance, Kepler Wessels who played for both Australia and South Africa has his milestone. Ballance scored his century on the fourth day of the 1st test. He reached his three-figure mark in 189 balls.
Ballance batted at No. 4 and took 126 balls to reach his half-century. He then increased the sums a little bit and, in the second gaming session of the day, got a century.
Talking about the journey of Gary Ballance was born in Zimbabwe and represented his country there at the U19 World Cup back in 2006. After moving to England, where he played for Yorkshire, he made his Test debut for England against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January 2014.
He continued to represent England in 23 Test matches, appearing in them and recording 1498 runs at an average of 37.45 with four hundred to his name. Ballance, however, was cut from the English Test team after the July 2017 Nottingham Test against South Africa.
In January 2023, he played his first T20 international match for Zimbabwe against Ireland. He also participated in a three-match ODI series against Ireland.
