“Accommodate Gill As An Opener…..” KL Rahul Revealed Playing XI Combination For The First Test Match Against Australia

KL Rahul, the vice-captain of the Indian team in test cricket, held a press conference before the Nagpur Test. He also talked about playing-11 and gave the details about India’s playing XI in the first match.

Vice-captain KL explained that this series is very important for us and we will try our best to win the clash because this series will decide the way to the finals of the World Test Championship. We have prepared in every way as a batting group and are also ready to play spin.

Speaking about the playing XI of the first test match, KL Rahul said that if team management wants him to bat in the middle order, he is also ready for that role. This is a major indication regarding the Indian batting combination from the Indian vice-captain ahead of the first test match. Earlier, it was speculated that Suryakumar Yadav would take the place of injured Shreyas Iyer in the first test match, but now with KL Rahul’s statement, uncertainty looms over Yadav’s place as there is highly possibility that KL Rahul may bat in the middle order to accommodate Gill as an opener in the playing11.

Regarding the spin combination, Rahul explained that we could go with three spinners, but the playing-11 has not been decided yet. We will decide our playing XI on the day of the match because many things have to be decided according to the pitch on the day of the match; here, the spinner and reverse swing will play an important role.

Further Indian vice-captain stated that he made it clear that if needed, then we will play big shots and aggressive cricket as well; our mindset is completely clear.

The series of four Test matches between India and Australia starts on February 9, and its first match is set to be played in Nagpur. The first-day wicket will help the speedster, but the rest of the day’s spinner will play a big role.
