This Bowler Should Make Debut & Replace Jasprit Bumrah In Test Team, Opines Brett Lee

India has produced a couple of pacers in some previous years and credit for it goes to the Indian Premier League. Some young guns who have played for India have impressed all the fans and critics, and Umran Malik is one such name. The bowler has some sheer pace and it is one factor which makes Umran unplayable.

Meanwhile, the former Australian veteran Brett Lee has backed Umran Malik to play the Test matches for India. He feels the bowler should make his Test debut. Brett Lee came up with this statement during the fourth Test match of India and Australia happening in Ahmedabad.

IPL 2022 had been incredible for Umran Malik and he went down to grab 22 wickets in just 14 games. Umran then got his reward as he was picked for the various series for India in white-ball series.

The former Australian feels that India is lacking experienced players like Jasprit Bumrah at the moment due to his injury issue and it is a good time for Umran to make into the team.

“Why not? He is good enough in my opinion. He is a superstar in the making. He has got good pace, got nice action and runs in well with a beautiful approach. So yes he can be injected,” Lee said on the sidelines of Legends League Cricket in Doha.

Talking ahead, Brett Lee also talked about the star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah and advised him to make some technical changes in order to avoid injuries while bowling.

“I wouldn’t say it makes it weak,” Lee continued. “I would definitely say that it leaves a whole in there. And I mean this as a compliment because he is that good. Bumrah has got a wonderful record. Unfortunately for him, he has had that worrying back issue for quite some time now.

“The only advice I would say is that with his run-up being so short, he has to find that pace and power out of his action where I think, maybe now in due course, he might extend his run-up to allow that pressure to be taken off his back.”
