“He feels he got cheated because…..” Aakash Chopra Shared His Thought After BCCI Overlooked Sarfraz Khan

The Indian selection committee has announced the 17-member team for the 2 two matches of the four test match series against the Australian team, starting from 9th February. Rising star batters Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan got the maiden call-up for the longest format of cricket, but the selectors overlooked young batter Sarfaraz Khan despite his exceptional performance in first-class cricket.

Speaking on this, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra stated that Sarfaraz Khan might feel cheated for not being picked by the Indian selectors in the upcoming test series against Australia. And Chopra also explained that if you have picked Surya, then the slot is opened, then why you don’t pick Sarfaraz because he has a first-class average of 80.

“Sarfaraz’s name is still not there. He feels he got cheated because his name should probably have come. Bumrah is still not there. That’s another piece of news, but I am more concerned that Sarfaraz is not there. When you pick Surya, it means a slot has opened up. I think Sarfaraz should have gotten that chance because Sarfaraz’s first-class average is 80. Apart from him, only Don Bradman has an average of 80 or more in the number of matches he has played,” said Aakash Chopra.

Further, Chopra stated that Sarfaraz had done everything to be on the National team. But if he hasn’t picked, then it is unfair to him. Looking at his performance, he should be in the team, and selectors should reward him.

“So he has done everything to be in the Indian team. I am disappointed that if you had a chance to select even one guy because both Surya and Sarfaraz don’t come in the XI, Sarfaraz is the right option in my opinion. If someone’s domestic season is going so good, you should have rewarded him.” the renowned commentator further added.
