Exclusive: Inzamam-ul-haq Resigns From The Post Of Chief Selector In The Middle Of The ODI World Cup, Leaves A Message

Inzamam-ul-Haq has stepped down from his position as the chief selector for the Pakistan national cricket team. The reports claim that he has taken this decision due to the team’s disappointing performance in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India.

According to reports, the former Pakistan captain sent his resignation letter to PCB chief Zaka Ashraf on Monday, October 30.

According to GEO news, Inzamam-ul-Haq said, “People speak without research. Questions were raised on me so I decided that it was better I resign.”

In this tournament so far, Pakistan has played six matches in which they have won only two and got defeated in four matches.

Inzamam’s removal from his position as the team’s chief selector was reportedly complicated due to potential conflicts of interest. It was revealed that Talha Rehmani, who is an agent of cricket players, owns a company called “Yazo International Limited,” in which Inzamam holds a stake. This raised concerns because Rehmani represents several of Pakistan’s leading cricketers, including prominent names like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Furthermore, it was discovered that Rizwan is also a co-owner of the same company.
