Doctors’ Provided Discharge Date of Rishabh Pant; Check Full Update

Indian team wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant underwent surgery in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute under the supervision of Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, after his car accident while going from Delhi to his hometown Rourkee on 30th December.

It has been 10 days since Pant underwent surgery on his knee, and he was under the supervision of doctors. As per the report, he had major surgery on the medial collateral ligament (MCL) as well as minor surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

“All the ligaments were injured. The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is a cause of concern. The doctors said that MCL surgery was absolutely necessary. Now his PCL will be assessed in two weeks. Hopefully, it will not need any further surgery. As of now, he essentially has undergone just one major surgery,” a BCCI source was quoted to the media house.

The source also mentioned that Pant will be discharged from the hospital in two weeks, after which the BCCI will monitor his recovery.

“The ligaments usually heal in four to six weeks. After that, rehab and strengthening will begin. His return to play will be assessed in another two months. He will have to undergo counselling sessions too; it could be four to six months before he can start playing,” the report further added.

Recently, Pant shared a post on social media after his accident, in which he mentioned the special person who saved his life, his fans, and the BCCI.
