ICC made a huge mistake on 17th January 2023 in the ICC Men’s Test team ranking. According to the mistake of the ICC, the Indian team achieved the top position in test cricket with a 115 rating, while the Australian team is on the second spot with 111 ratings. The New Zealand and England team is on the third position of the list with 106 and 100 ratings, and South Africa is on fifth with 85 ratings.
But after some hours, ICC corrects the test rankings of teams, and according to ICC’s new update, the Australian team is on the top position in test cricket with a 126 rating, while the Indian team is on the second spot with 116 ratings. The England and South Africa team is on the third and fourth position of the list with 107 and 102 ratings, and New Zealand is on fifth with 99 ratings.
In December 2022, the Indian team won the two-test match series against Bangladesh by 2-0. However Australian team also clinch the three-test match series against South Africa by 2-0.
Looking at the World Test Champions 2021-23, the Australian team is already entered the finals, and for the second finalist cricketing world will have to wait till March 2023.
In the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian team must win the upcoming four-test match series against Australia at home to make a place in the finals of WTC 2021-23. If isn’t happen, then the result of the Sri Lankan vs New Zealand two-test match series and the result of the South African vs West Indies two-test match series will be evaluated. Then the cricketing world will be the second finalist for the upcoming WTC 2021-23.
