Mohammad Amir’s Visa Issue: What You Need to Know

Pakistan comeback man Mohammad Amir might not be with the team as they are set to face Ireland in a three-match T-20 series against Ireland starting on May 10.

A source close to PCB said that all the other members of the squad have received their visas for Ireland except Mohammad Amir because of the jail term he served in Ireland for the 2010 match fixing scandal.

The source said, “Because of the spot-fixing case of 2010 and his subsequent jail term and ban, his visa is still being processed.”

The source further went on to say that the Pakistan board faced a similar situation in 2018, when Pakistan toured Ireland and England. However, Mohammad Amir was given a visa a bit later.

The source further added, “We are hopeful he will get his visa in a day or two, and he can join them later.”
