Royal Challengers Bengaluru had lost their fourth match of the season against Rajasthan Royals.
However, earlier, after RCB’s innings got over, Virat Kohli termed this wicket as two-paced. Virat Kohli scored 72 balls (113* which helped RCB reach 183/3 in their 20 overs.
On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals chased down the target in 19 overs with the help of a 58-ball hundred from Jos Buttler.
However, former Indian batter Ajay Jadeja feels that there’s some bias in the way Virat Kohli observed the wicket and the way it played during the entire match.
In his interaction with Jio Cenima, Ajay Jadeja said, “He (Kohli) started out so well. He hit a couple of boundaries in the first few overs, and you knew you were watching something special tonight. The only surprising thing was him speaking about how the deliveries were not carrying through on this pitch, but the way he batted, we didn’t see any shortcomings in the pitch.”
After scoring his eighth IPL hundred, Virat said, “The wicket looks quite different from the outside. It feels like it’s flat, but the ball is holding up on the pitch; that’s when you realize the pace changes.”
Jadeja even went on to say that it was Virat’s shot that convinced him that there’s nothing wrong with surfaces.
Jadeja said, “In terms of his shot-making, no corner of the ground was left where he didn’t smash the ball. What he said made us think something might be wrong with the pitch, but the way he played, there wasn’t a single shortcoming that could be seen.”
