Gujarat Titans Hero Sai Sudharsan said that he only came to open the batting with Gill because Wridhiman Saha was not well. Sai Sudharsan played a phenomenal knock as an opener, scoring 103 of just 51 deliveries.
Sudharsan also became the fastest player to reach 1000 runs in the IPL, breaking the records of Sachin Tendulkar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, who took 31 innings to reach the milestone; on the other hand, Sai Sudharsan took only 25 innings to reach there.
Speaking about his innings, Sai Sudharsan said, “It was a great innings, really. In every game, including this one, everyone aspired to play like we did. Thus, I’m thrilled to play this game. Since Wridhi Bhai is ill, I started the innings today.”
Sai Sudharsan further added, “We can never tell how much is enough with the way everyone is batting at the moment, in my opinion, since the pitch is excellent for batting. As a result, I think our team would benefit greatly from switching things up and bowling a little broader; it will also create a more exciting game. At first, it was digging into the surface, but as the innings went on, the wicket improved.”
Both Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill added 210 for the opening wicket, which helped the Titans post a mammoth total of 231 on the scoreboard.
