Pakistan All-rounder Imad Wasim Announces Retirement From International Cricket, Leaves A Heartfelt Message

In disappointing news from the Pakistan Cricket Team, all-rounder Imad Wasim has declared his retirement from international cricket. The 34-year-old stated X, expressing that he believes this is the appropriate moment to retire from the gentleman’s game.

“In recent days I have been doing a lot of thinking about my international career and I have come to the conclusion that now is the right time for me to announce my retirement from international cricket,” he said in his statement.

“I would like to thank the PCB for all their support over the years – it has truly been an honor to represent Pakistan.”

Wasim played 55 ODIs and 66 T20Is for Pakistan. He gathered a total of 1472 runs and claimed 109 wickets to his name.

“Each of my 121 appearances across the ODI and T20I formats was a dream come true. It’s an exciting time for Pakistan cricket going forward with new coaches and leadership incoming. I wish all involved every success and I look forward to watching the team excel.

Imad has been a pivotal member of the Pakistan team over the years. He contributed to the 2017 Champions Trophy-winning squad. He was also present in the team during the 2016 T20 World Cup, the 2019 World Cup, and the 2021 T20 World Cup.
