Ambati Rayudu Picks His Best Indian Side That Played A ODI World Cup

During a recent interview, the former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu who won IPL both for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, shared his experience of analysing the 2023 ODI World Cup and also talked about his personal and professional life.

In response to questions about his career, Ambati Rayudu conveyed his dissatisfaction with the way it concluded and his perception of the treatment he received from the team management. Rayudu specifically highlighted the team management’s belief that his composed and quiet demeanor reflected a lack of confidence, a notion he deemed illogical.

While having a conversation at Ranveer Show, Rayudu said, “Everybody’s story is going to be different, but I’m happy that I never asked anybody for any favor.”

When questioned about which World Cup defeat against Australia would be more painful for India, the one in 2003 or in 2023, Ambati Rayudu expressed that both losses would leave a lasting impact. However, he noted that the 2023 defeat stung even more because, in his view, the Indian team in that year was stronger than the one in 2003.

“I think Australia was much stronger than us, but this time, definitely, we were a stronger side,” he said.

He also said that the best Indian side that played in an ODI World Cup was of 2011 edition under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

“I feel this is the best Indian side I’ve seen play in a World Cup. 2011 was a better Indian side in general because of the skill factor and the experience and everything, but this side, I think, played the best in all the World Cups that I have seen,” Rayudu added.
