Not CSK, MI, Or RCB, Stuart Broad Picks His Favourite IPL Team

The former England fast bowler, Stuart Broad has named his favourite IPL team he supports. Despite being one of the premier bowlers of his era, Broad never participated in the IPL. Although he was on the verge of joining the IPL in the 2009/10 season, he eventually chose not to participate in the T20 league just to give priority to Test cricket.

In 2011, Stuart Broad landed his debut IPL deal with the Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab). However, a sidelining side strain dashed his hopes of taking the IPL stage that year. Despite being retained by the Punjab franchise for the 2012 season, the English cricketer made the intriguing decision to forgo participation once more.

After his tenure with the Punjab Kings, Stuart Broad did not secure another IPL contract. However, he continues to be a passionate follower. Recently, the former fast bowler revealed his support to the Rajasthan Royals. Broad pointed out that a bunch of English players play for this franchise and for this reason, he sees it as his favourite team.

“Generally, I try and support my friends, whoever they are playing for. I must admit Rajasthan Royals, where Jos Buttler is, and Jofra Archer who used to be. Looking like a really good franchise and I quite like the pink kit,” said Stuart Broad.

Despite England star Jos Buttler’s continued association with the franchise, Stuart Broad’s former teammates, including Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jofra Archer, have also showcased their skills for the Rajasthan Royals. The cricket legend from England also expressed his fondness for the team’s distinctive pink color.
