The board of Cricket Control in India has announced a new contract for players. The contract is from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
As many as thirty Indian players are handed their central contracts. Reacting to the same former West Indies great Ian Bishop was all praise for BCCI for giving contracts to pacers.
Ian Bishop said that he is a big fan of the move taken by BCCI to give contracts to fast bowlers and said that this move by BCCI is very innovative, and he is very excited to see Umran Malik’s name on the list.
Ian Bishop took his X account to praise BCCI, saying, “Very innovative move by India to give out fast-bowling contracts. I am a big fan of that, especially seeing Umran Malik’s name on that list.
Any team that wants to be globally competitive must procure and develop quality fast-bowlers.”.
Malik made his international debut for India in a Twenty20 match against Ireland, and since then, he has represented India in 10 one-day matches, picking up 13 wickets. Malik also played 8 of 20 matches for India, picking up 11 wickets.
Apart from Umran Malik, Akashdeep also had a phenomenal start to his career, picking up three wickets in his debut test match.
