‘Fit To Play’ Jofra Archer Not To Register For IPL 2024 Auction, Here Is The Massive Reason

Star England fast bowler Jofra Archer will not participate in IPL 2024, as he chose not to register his name for the mini-auction set to occur on December 19 in Dubai. The reports suggest that the England Cricket Board has asked the pacer to pull out of IPL 2024 in order to prepare for the upcoming T20I World Cup happening in the USA and West Indies.

The star pacer last played his professional cricket back in May 2023 when he participated in the IPL 2023 for the Mumbai Indians. Unfortunately, he was limited to just five matches in the season due to a recurring stress elbow fracture, after which he was ruled out of the tournament.

Archer also served as a reserve with the England team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. However, he suffered elbow pain once again during training in Mumbai and had to return home within a week.

The fast bowler has been retained by MI Cape Town as a ‘wildcard’ player for the second season of the SA 20, one of the most popular T20 leagues. However, his participation in the tournament depends upon his rehab and his time of recovery.
