Australia’s David Warner: Ready to Face Hostile New Zealand Fans in T20s

The mighty Australians are all set to take on arch-rival New Zealand in a two-match test series, which is all set to go underway on February 29.

Both Australia and New Zealand are set to face each other in the three-match T-20 series before the two teams face each other again in the red ball format of the game.

Warner, who has been one of the consistent runners for Australia across the three formats, accused the fans of New Zealand of being “derogatory and vulgar,” as they abused Warner and his teammates when Australia toured New Zealand in 2016.

The Southpaw, who retired from the longest format of the game recently in January after Australia defeated Pakistan in the test series by 3-0, feels that New Zealand’s fans are going to come hard against them in the upcoming series, and they are ready for that battle.

Warner, who has scored 3,067 runs in the shortest format of the game since his debut in 2009, hopes a T20 series win for Australia can give them momentum going into the first Test in Wellington on February 29.

The second test of the series will be played in Christchurch from March 8 to 12.
